Family gardens, community-based and educational
This communal project is based on two pillars:
- Educational gardens: children discover nature through the seasons, from sowing to harvesting.
- Rental plots: residents cultivate their vegetable gardens by renting a plot, to sow, harvest, and share their vegetables throughout the seasons.
Educational and Community-Based Plots
Children not only need good nutrition for their growth, but they also need to be educated about balanced and healthy eating for their entire lives.
School Gardens
Bring together all these elements under good conditions and with strong support:
- Awaken all the senses: sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing.
- Show children how to cultivate various fruits and vegetables, while promoting a balanced diet.
Nutrition & Environment
- Show children and their families how to develop and improve their diet.
- Raise awareness about the need to protect the environment and conserve soil.
Family Plots
Spaces dedicated to vegetable and fruit cultivation, which are also places for relaxation and leisure to be preserved and developed.
True vanishing havens, they constitute an essential link between humans and nature, as well as its riches.
Following urban development
and the construction of new housing
The collective management of family plots helps create new social ties by fostering encounters between residents of the municipalities.
Reidener Gaart
In collaboration with the municipality of Rédange, CIGR Wiltz Plus a.s.b.l. maintains green spaces dedicated to the discovery and sharing of gardening.
